About the Founder

The interdisciplinary field of Energy Medicine Research was originally founded in 1989 by Drs. Elmer and Alyce Green of the Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kansas in collaboration with the founders of the American Holistic Medical Association, Drs. William and Gladys McGarey, MD and C. Norman Shealy, MD, Ph.D.

Since June 4, 2018, Dr. Margaret Dwyer has handled every aspect of the third global hub located in Michigan. Biofield Medicine, in particular, is her focus, and it includes healthy sleep and dreamwork.

Biography

MARGARET L. DWYER, PhD, CSD

Counseling Psychologist & Commissioned Spiritual Director

Dr. Dwyer taught the Social Sciences at Monteith College, an innovative interdisciplinary undergraduate college at Wayne State University while she was finishing her Master’s Degree in Addiction Research in the WSU College of Education in the Department of Theoretical and Behavioral Studies. Prior to this she was at the University of Michigan in the College of Engineering, majoring in Physics and Mathematics, minoring in Music and the Human Potential Development of dysfunctional children and youth. Later, she served on the faculty of WSU in the field of Counselor Education and Career Development in the Department of Theoretical and Behavioral Studies.

During this time period (1969-1986), Dr. Dwyer became a college administrator at Wayne County Community College District, a multi-cultural, interdisciplinary urban college in the heart of one of the most devastated urban areas in the United States since the 1960’s through to today. She took early retirement in the late 1980’s to found a consultant firm ready to implement her vision for social change for the better in the 21st century. She also gave birth to her third daughter and final child at 41, completed her doctorate seven months later and entered into post-doctoral studies in the emerging field of Energy Medicine, an interdisciplinary approach to the Physics of Medicine to complement the Chemistry and Surgery of Medicine. She was successfully able to combine her passion for Human Potential Development Research with her experience in Counseling Psychology through the use of Healthy Sleep and Dreamwork programs collaborating Henry Reed, PhD. The Fine, Performing and Healing Arts so attractive to youth and young adults preparing for the responsibilities of professional employment, addiction rehabilitation, childrearing and community building became integral with other Energy Medicine modalities.

Dr. Dwyer recognizes that we are at a critical point in the evolution of our species, the awakening of human consciousness and the restoration of the damage to our planet observable throughout the 20th century, now reaching critical mass at the beginning of the 21st century. Today, at 75, Dr. Dwyer’s primary focus is on developing the holistic programs, products, services, research and fund development in Family Health Care Studies and planetary restoration that will benefit the greater good of all concerned in sustainable communities all over southeastern Michigan linked in cyberspace globally with people of like-mindedness. She projects that at least fifty such communities will emerge during the 21st century through the efforts of her consultant firm in cooperation with other organizations in the area. She is devoting the next 10-20 years of her life to promoting the establishment of international communities of peace, prosperity, sustainability, nonviolence and the equitable distribution of goods, services and human resources through ethical enterprise.

After reading books such as Disposable People by Kevin Bales, Peaceful Tomorrows by Colleen Kelly and Gaia and God by Rosemary Reuther, she is committed to putting an end to the notion that people are disposable, and supporting the notion that reverence for sustainable life must be established in the foreseeable future. As a member of the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD), the Int’l Society for the Study of Subtle Energy & Energy Medicine, (ISSSEEM), the American Holistic Medical Association (AHMA) now the Academy for Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM), the Center for Science, Theology & Medicine (CSTM) and Spiritual Directors International (SDI), Dr. Dwyer is committed to doing this work for the rest of

her life.
